About Me
My name is Michael Franco, owner of Franco Woodworks and CNC.
I am a second-generation logger born in Fort Bragg, California, a town known for its milling and logging industry. I was raised in the woods of Mendocino County by a father who had a passion for redwood, especially redwood burl. Through the years, I have grown to love and appreciate fine wood as much as my dad. I wish I had known when I was young how rare old growth redwood and redwood burl would become. Those were the "every day" woods I grew up with and burned for heat.
Every piece of wood has its own unique character, which I love to bring out so that others can also appreciate it. Being born with an artistic streak, I love using unique pieces of wood to create pieces that are truly one of a kind.
